DIFFA Dallas

We are still thinking about DIFFA Dallas! This year’s show was held in Dallas, Texas on March 7th at the Dallas Omni Convention Center. As the 25th show, we decided that a time time theme would best capture the spirit of the previous years. The fashion show was broken up into three segments: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. The first segment was presented as a time hop and took you right down memory lane!.

No matter what your taste in music, there was something for everyone. While models walked in corresponding fashion to the time period, there were performers that imitated everyone from Madonna, Prince, and George MIchael up to a pop diva battle between Rhianna, Beyonce, Katy Perry, and Miley Cyrus. One of our favorite portions of the “Yesterday’s” segment was the Barbie scene! No better way to take a trip down memory lane to your childhood!

 

The next segment was the “Today” piece and all of the pieces we graciously donated by  Traffic LA.

The last segment ended with our Tomorrow segment. This futuristic scene opened with a variety of body painted models who walked in between the majestic performance of the Dallas Black Dance Theater. Models were interspersed between the dancers and body painters wearing designs by  Esé Azénabor and spectacular LED wigs.

The ending featured 4 maidens wearing matching dresses of white which were designed by John Ahrens with head pieces by Noel Rodriguez. The finale was a lovely gown by Michael Faircloth with a matching white peacock headpiece also by Noel Rodriguez, modeled by Carlotta Lennox.

We cannot thank everyone enough for all of their help, support, and assistance to make this show possible. This one is going down in the books!

1. What made you start this collection?

After starting my own interior and furniture design business directly after college and focusing on building my company for nearly two decades, I felt the need to take a hiatus to refresh my creative energy.“So my husband and I, and our two fat cats move to this tiny town in the hills for three months, and we end up living there almost two years! I start taking this sculpture class. Working in bronze fascinated me, but everyone was making these big things and I’m making these small things. Finally my professor said perhaps I should take a jewelry making class. Coming back to Dallas, I was always wearing my small sculptures. Then one day, a longtime client of mine comes into the store and right away I begin to sell her a sofa that I knew would be perfect in her home. Totally ignoring me, she keeps asking me about the jewelry I’m wearing, and I just kept selling that couch. Finally she said, ‘Stephanie, how much is that sofa and I replied $3,800.’ She said, ‘I’ll take all the jewelry you have on for $3,800.’ So I knew it was time to start a new venture!”Within only a year, the Stephanie Kantis Jewelry Collection made a fast name for itself, becoming available in Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue stores across the country. Specialty luxury and resort boutiques throughout the United States also carry the collection.2.What is the inspiration by this collection?The Spring 2015 collection was inspired by the free-spirit energy of the 70’s era. It embraces an elevated and romantic sophistication of the bohemian aesthetic.3. Is your collection meant for those who really love gold? Yes!. . . .  .and No. Gold is always classic and elegant. However, I have launched the “Stephanie Kantis White Collection,” which is the majority of my core styles now available in silver.4.  We loved seeing your pieces at the Victoria Secret Fashion? Why did they choose those specific pieces?The wonderfully talented head stylist for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show is a great enthusiast of the collection and she contacted us to request the pieces. They wanted their show-opener “Gilded Angels” to be empowering, glamorous and luxuriously bold in gold so Stephanie Kantis double Goddess Cuffs, multiple bangles & earrings were the picks!5. What made you want to be involved for DIFFA?I am very honored to be involved with Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS. It is a truly significant organization supporting such vital work in the community. My design roots are in Dallas where I lived for nearly two decades and this is a city that is very important to me. 10 Trends from NYFW

New York Fashion Week always seems to blow us away and we are going to give you a rundown of the best looks straight from the runway. The runways were oddly full of bright colors like lavender, corals, reds, and tangerines. DIFFA Dallas 2015

We are extremely excited for the annual gala of the Dallas Chapter of Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) and it’s their 25th anniversary! This black tie event is going to be filled with Dallas’ elite and it's taking place on Saturday, March 7th at the Omni Dallas Hotel.

“Formed in 1984, the Dallas chapter is the only HIV/AIDS organization in Texas that provides funding to local HIV/AIDS Service Organizations within our community. Providing direct care to those living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, DIFFA/Dallas has granted more than $6 million to over 25 front line HIV/AIDS Service Organizations in North Texas.”

This year’s theme is House of DIFFA No. 25 and we are so honored to be producing the show! This fashion show will showcase a curated selection of one-of-a-kind, tailored jackets with all proceeds going towards grants for HIV/AIDS service organizations in North Texas. Also, this year will include a presentation of the denim jacket collection that was premiered in 1989.

Tinsley Radix Recap!

Happy Friday! The Tinsley Radix Debut was on Thursday, January 29th at The Chandelier Room in Dallas, Texas. Caitlyn Mullanix and Chelsea Brogdon debuted their Fall/Winter 2015 collection and we were nothing but honored to produce such a wonderful show. These ladies have always had a passion for fashion and with the support of their friends, family, and loved ones they were able to make their dreams come true. Tinsley Radix is a custom fashion brand designed by the co-founders of Chantilly Dallas.

Their current collection has been influenced heavily from their Southern background. The collection was full of formal wear, prints, and cocktail attire. Here's To A Healthy 2015!

We cannot believe the holidays are over and 2015 is here! There is something really exciting about January because we believe it's all about new beginnings. This month is about making new goals and writing down those New Year's resolutions. It's time to reflect  on things you would like to improve on including: health, fitness, and diet. Therefore, leave those regrets behind and start fresh! Here are Rhonda's 10 tips how to keep a healthy lifestyle!
